Quilting can seem entirely overwhelming, but it doesn't have to be when you know the steps it takes to make one!

Join our beginner-friendly class to learn the basics of quilt construction, and come away from class with a mini quilt and the knowledge to keep going on your happy quilting pathway.

Yes, there is a lot to absorb at first, but these skills are the baseline for feeling confident about stepping out on your own, making the quilts you'd like to make.

You will learn:

• Reading a quilt pattern
• Measuring and piecing your quilt
  
• Machine-quilting with a walking foot
  
• Cutting and measuring your pieces
  
• Measuring batting
• Basting your quilt
• Binding your quilt
  

You will come away with a beautiful mini quilt that you can use and admire as a placemat, piece of art, or whatever else you can think of!

Level:

• Confident Beginner — for adults and teens (13 and up) who are comfortable using a sewing machine.

What you need:

• Yourself (we provide everything, including materials and sewing machines).
  

About your teacher:

Allison Mondel, owner of the Fab Lab, loves to play with color, design, and crazy ideas. She learned to sew as a 7th grader, took a very long break, and rediscovered the rapturous joy of quilting two years ago. Allison loves teaching and sharing the creative process with her students.
