Fab Lab Fabric + Quilt
This is the quintessential primer class for making your first actual quilt!
We will break down the basic elements of quilt construction, and learn about the various options quilters choose when they make their wonderful quilts.
There are many facets of the quilting process, and you will have hands-on practice with many of the essential techniques, with a focus on machine quilting.
(This is the class I wish I had available when I began quilting!)
You will learn about:
- Types of quilts
- Stitching
- Reading patterns
- Measuring
- Cutting
- Sizing
- Batting
- Basting
- Binding
- Thread and Needles
You will come away with a mini sampler quilt featuring various quilting techniques. But more importantly, you will leave feeling more confident about how to begin your first quilt from choosing your fabric and materials, and making informed choices about your quilting process and finishing your quilt.
Level:
- Confident Beginner — for adults (16 and up) who are comfortable using a sewing machine.
What you need:
- Yourself (we provide everything, including materials and sewing machines)
