Fab Lab Fabric + Quilt
Stitching is personal! Create a special book with page inserts to dedicate to your creative process.
Whether you go slow or fast, are simple or artsy, experienced or not, you can learn how to capture your moments of special stitching in your own handcrafted stitch journal.
You will create the cover for your stitch journal, and learn different ways to add pages as you go, find your own rhythm, and feel more confident following your artistic process.
Class series is two consecutive Saturdays.
Level:
All levels welcome, for adults and teens (ages 13+).
You will learn:
- Journal construction elements
- Embroidery techniques
- Embellishment ideas and techniques
- Types of paper, thread and needles
- Ideas for what to include in your journal
What you need:
- All basic construction materials provided (including paper, thread, etc.).
- Embellishments including fabric, ribbon, beads, buttons, whatever you fancy.
Your Teacher:
Bailey Dermarderosian is an accomplished sewist and quilter who loves hand-stitching, sustainable fabrics, and scrappy quilts. She is our resident beginner teacher at the Fab Lab, patiently and joyfully helping students of all ages and skill levels. She is also actively involved in several local quilt guilds and is a total maven of hand-stitching.
