Fab Lab 101: Help! Beginner Class

Befriend your own sewing machine for this in-person total beginners class. 

In this 2-hour class, we will love up our machine and go over the basics of how to get started with basic sewing and make a simple (but fab!) project together. 

You will walk away from class with fresh skills, inspiration, and confidence, and a new relationship with your sewing machine.

Be sure to bring all the components that come with your machine, including pedal, electrical cord, manual (if you have it), and various foot plates, whatever you have.  

All materials are provided (except for your sewing machine!). Class is limited to six people (age 13 and older).

DATE: Wednesday, October 29, 2025 from 7-9pm.

COST: $40, all materials included.

LOCATION: At 525 Massachusetts Avenue, Suite A, Acton, MA 01720 (at Villageworks, in the beautiful space of Illuminated Birth).

Materials Included: All materials are included, as well as tools and other gear you will need.
Requirements: A sewing machine in good working order! Don't forget your pedal foot and power cord. 🙃

Instructor Bio: Allison is the founder of Fab Lab, a recovering professional soprano turned modern quilter in a new season of life. She taught herself to quilt and rediscovered a love for color, making lovely things, and creative play. She teaches the basics that provide the potential for adapting your vision to anything, and empowers you to bend the rules.
